MAR 09: “MOCKTAIL, TALK, LEARN” MIXER

This is a public speaking mixer inspired by the ‘Drink, Talk Learn” parties that blew Twitter up. All party-goers are required to give a 3-minute talk using Powerpoint on any topic that they are passionate about. If you want to polish your public speaking skills and meet new people, this is for you.

But wait, there are rules!

  1. You are not allowed to use the Transition feature in Powerpoint to automatically time your talk to 3 minutes.
  2. Who gets to talk first will be determined by randomly picking out names out of a bowl. So you will have to be prepared at all times.
  3. For every minute you are over the 3-minute mark, you have to eat a cupcake without using your hands.
  4. Questions from audience are allowed but only after the presentation is over.
  5. Winner will be determined by everyone — you will be given a evaluation sheet and this will be collected and tabulated at the end of the session.
  6. There are 3 prizes to be won – Best Dressed, Best Presentation and Crowd Favourite.

Only twenty (20) seats are available; 3-5pm at Binjai Soho 8 in Kuala Lumpur (behind Intercontinental Hotel, Jalan Ampang). Fun party food and colorful mocktails will be provided.
