After the overwhelming response that we received for the first two youth workshops, we are happy to inform that a third workshop is now confirmed.

The “Say What?!” workshop is suitable for those between the ages of 16-21 who find public speaking, attending interviews, presenting in class or speaking up in a general a challenging thing to do.

TOPICS

  • Identifying your triggers: why your mind goes blank and you get nervous in front on people.
  • Body language matters: how to manage the way your body moves to inspire trust and confidence.
  • Learning to listen: how to separate good information from bad ones so that you can answer or react more effectively.
  • Tips & tricks: how to nail public speaking and keep your jitters in check.
  • Role-play: A Q&A session that will be recorded and critiqued so that you can improve your communications skills and style.

Workshop will be concluded with a role-play session where participants will act out different situations and are given tips and tricks on how to handle themselves gracefully in such. Participants will be given personal feedback via email within 24-hours of conclusion of the workshop.

Our most popular workshop is back after a 3-month hiatus with updated syllabus and content.

Open to everyone, it focuses on personal branding and how to be authentic to who you are and positively amplifying it to help you grow from strength to strength.

This workshop will help you identify and craft your master statement and narrow the reality vs perception gap so that you own a strong personal brand. While the specific circumstances and goals vary by individuals, the overall concept and processes will be relevant to everyone irrespective of his/her industry or stage of career.

TOPICS

MODULE 1: The Science of First Impressions

Building a recognizable personal brand opens up professional opportunities and starts within seconds of meeting someone. Learn to create a a positive halo effect whereby you are associated with having positive qualities as a result of a good first impression. These include:

  1. Manners maketh man – what people think of you within the first 20 seconds and how you can control your personal brand.
  2. Dressing the part – what does the different dress code mean.
  3. Managing difficult co-workers – how to say no and create an environment of trust.

MODULE 2: The 4C’s of Personal Branding

Personal Branding is an extension of who you are: what people remember about you. THINK: if you were to leave your job tomorrow, what would you like your colleagues to say and remember about you? These include how to:

  1. Write a master statement
  2. Edit your social media platforms
  3. Rewrite your cv
  4. Identify the elements of value that represent who you are

Workshop will be concluded with a role-play session where participants will act out different social and business situations and are given tips and tricks on how to handle themselves gracefully in such. Participants will be given personal feedback via email within 24-hours of conclusion of the workshop.

“Coffee, Cake, Learn” Mixer

This mixer is inspired by the “Drink, Talk, Learn” parties that are taking Seattle by storm.

Refine your public speaking skills and build confidence with this lightning-speed presentation mixer where you are required to give a 3-minute talk on any topic you are passionate about.

RULES

  1. All participants must give a 3-minute talk aided by a Powerpoint presentation on any topic that they love.
  2. Setting the automatic timer via animation in the Powerpoint presentation is NOT ALLOWED.
  3. For every one (1) minute that you go over the 3-minute mark, you will have to stop and eat a cupcake. WITHOUT USING YOUR HANDS. Once cupcake is eaten, you are to continue the presentation. More cupcakes to be eaten after the presentation is over depending on how many minutes you overshoot the 3-minute allotted time.
  4. Audience can heckle you and stop you for questions so you need to be able to adapt your presentation speed and style in order to allow for these “interruptions”. However, those who interrupt without cause will be penalized and required to drink an entire glass of Coke Zero. The presentation timer will be stopped in order to accommodate these questions.
  5. Come dressed in Business Casual!

AWARDS

Winners will be voted by blind ballot and these are for:

  1. Best Speaker
  2. Best Dressed
  3. Most Interesting Topic, and
  4. Closest to 3 minutes Without Going Over.
